I am a director based in Byron Bay NSW, Australia. Originally from Christchurch, New Zealand, I came to Australia to study at the Australian Film Television & Radio School, where I made several short films that won awards and traveled the short film circuit.
I have spent the past fifteen years working as director, predominately in television working with the ABC and NITV. I received a grant from Screen Australia to shadow director Michael Rymer on the set of BATTLESTAR GALACTICA and spent four months in Vancouver observing Michael and soaking up his wisdom. Inspired by this I returned to Australia and managed to secure the film rights to Craig Silvey’s book JASPER JONES, on which I ultimately became an executive producer.
Soon after I fell into the co-production of a small and wonderful human being. Willow has definitely been my greatest production to date. Currently aged seven she also seems very happy to have a mother who directed for PLAYSCHOOL and has been nominated for an AACTA award for her work on the show.
In 2018 I was selected to take part in the ADG’s Shadow Directing Initiative and directed an episode of Aquarius Films’ TV drama THE UNLISTED for which I was nominated at the 2020 ADG Awards for best direction. I was also awarded the 2020 Regional Directors Elevator Program from Screenworks, with support from Create NSW and Screen Producers Australia and my short film project THE GATHERING was selected for funding by Screen NSW and Epic Games as part of the Unreal Engine short film challenge.
Most recently I have directed two episodes of the Stan Original series BUMP for Rough Diamond.
My goal is to continue to work as a TV drama director, both here in Australia and Internationally.
